This policy explains how Purple Directive ("we", "us") collects, uses and shares information when you use Volstrin and its related websites, communications and services (the "Services"). The information we collect depends on how you use the Services and on the choices you make.

About Volstrin
Volstrin is a legal recruiting service placing attorneys and legal professionals with law firms and legal departments. To work, it needs information such as the career details candidates share with us, including experience, credentials and preferences, and the details clients share with us about their roles and organizations. We do not guarantee placement, interviews or hiring outcomes.
Information we collect
Information you give us. Such as your name, email address, phone number and postal address; account, profile and preference information; professional information, such as your organization and role; order, billing and payment information, which our payment providers process; your communications with us, including by email, forms, chat and phone; survey responses and reviews; and content you upload, create or share through the Services.
Information we collect automatically. When you use the Services or open our emails, we and our service providers and partners may collect information such as device, browser and connection information (including IP address and device identifiers), approximate location, the pages, content and features you view and use, how you interact with them, links you click, searches, errors and performance, the date and time of your visits, and the pages that referred you. We collect it using cookies, pixels, tags, scripts, software development kits, logs and similar technologies.
Information from other sources. Such as service providers, payment providers, business, marketing and advertising partners, analytics and data providers, providers of business and contact information, social networks, services you choose to connect to the Services, and publicly available sources. We may combine it with information we already have.
Information we infer. We may derive information from other information, such as the organization or industry associated with an IP address or email domain, your general location, and your likely interests and preferences.
How we use information
We may use information to:
- provide, operate, maintain and personalize the Services;
- process transactions and send related notices, such as receipts;
- respond to your requests and provide support;
- communicate with you, including about the Services and, where permitted, about products, offers and events we think may interest you;
- market and advertise our products, including on other websites and services, and measure how well our marketing works;
- understand how the Services are used and who uses them, conduct research and analytics, improve the Services, and develop new products, features and technologies, including machine-learning and AI models;
- keep the Services and our users secure, and detect, prevent and respond to fraud, abuse and other harmful activity;
- comply with law, enforce our terms and protect our rights; and
- for other purposes we describe when we collect the information, or with your consent.
We may monitor or record communications with us, such as support chats and calls, where the law allows. We may create aggregated, de-identified or anonymized information and use it for any lawful purpose. We will not try to re-identify it except as the law permits.
How we share information
We may share information:
- With employers and clients when you apply or ask us to share your profile.
- With service providers that help us operate the Services, such as hosting, security, payment processing, communications, customer support, analytics and AI-assisted features. They may use it only to provide services to us.
- With marketing and analytics partners, that help us understand how the Services are used and run and measure our marketing, under terms that limit how they may use it.
- With business partners, such as partners we offer products, events or content with.
- With our affiliates, meaning businesses under common ownership or control with us.
- At your direction or with your consent, such as when you share content with others, post a review, or connect another service.
- For legal reasons, when we believe it is needed to comply with law or legal process, respond to government requests, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public or us.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy or sale of assets, including during negotiations.
- In aggregated or de-identified form, which does not identify you.
We do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
Cookies and similar technologies
We and our service providers and partners use cookies, pixels, tags, scripts, local storage and similar technologies to keep the Services working, remember your preferences, understand how the Services are used, keep them secure, and measure and improve our content and marketing, including across devices. Some of these tools record how visitors interact with pages. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work without cookies. Browsers' "Do Not Track" signals have no common standard and we do not respond to them.
How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, such as providing the Services, meeting legal, tax and accounting obligations, resolving disputes and enforcing our agreements. How long depends on the type of information and why we have it. When we no longer need it, we delete it or de-identify it.
How we protect information
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of information.
Your choices and rights
You can review and update information you have given us by contacting us. You can opt out of marketing emails using the link in them; we may still send you messages about your account, purchases or requests.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know about, access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain uses, such as targeted advertising or profiling. To make a request, email info@volstrin.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it. Where the law allows, an authorized agent may make a request for you. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
US state privacy disclosures
Some US state laws ask us to describe our practices using their categories. In the past 12 months we may have collected these categories of personal information: identifiers, such as name, email address, IP address and device identifiers; customer records, such as billing and contact details; commercial information, such as purchases; internet or other electronic network activity; approximate geolocation; audio, electronic or similar information, such as recorded calls or chats; professional or employment information; and inferences drawn from any of these. We collect them from the sources, use them for the purposes, and disclose them to the kinds of recipients described above. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, including the personal information of anyone under 16. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. We keep each category for as long as described in "How long we keep information".
Visitors outside the United States
Where the law of your country applies, such as in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on these legal bases: to perform a contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating, securing, improving and promoting our business, your consent, and to meet legal obligations. You may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your information, to data portability, and to withdraw consent, and you may complain to your local data protection authority. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Children
The Services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Where information is processed
We are based in the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws from where you live.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version here and update the version and effective date above. If a change is material, we will also give notice through the Services or by other appropriate means.
